BTC "Reelin' For Life" Raises $870!

NAHUNTA, GA - Brantley Telephone Company congratulates the team of Edward Brand & Jason Thrift for winning the coveted "Best 5 Bass" prize in the 1st BTC "Reelin' For Life" fishing tournament held Saturday, March 6, 2010.  Their weight of 16 lbs 8.2 oz held up against twenty other competing teams.  Their boat also took 1st place in the "Biggest Bass" category with a 4 lb 10 oz largemouth caught by Thrift.

Jimmy & Layton Anderson took second place with a 3 lb 11.8 oz largemouth, just barely edging out Phillip Sturgess and his 3 lb 11.6 oz largemouth.

Chad Crews & Christopher Harris won "Most Panfish," bringing back 10 lbs 4 oz of them.  Donovan Johns & Steven Chesser came in 2nd with 9 lb 10.8 oz, and the father-and-son team of Bill & Korey White took 3rd with 5 lb 15 oz.

Stanley Dowling and Douglas Brand won the "Most Catfish" & "Biggest Catfish" categories by default, after being the only team to return to the landing with any.  They weighed in two "whoppers" that totaled 11.6 ounces.

Brantley Telephone Company employees Paul Smith & Drew Taylor coordinated the tournament and would like to express their gratitude to all of the participants as well as the following business sponsors who helped make this event possible:  BTC, Satilla Grocery, Caney Bay Company, Gold House Restaurant, 82 Tire & Lube, Farmers & Builders Supply of Nahunta, CSX, Nahunta Hardware and Golden Isles Speedway.  A special thanks also goes to the Thrift family in Hickox for hosting the event on their property.
